To help manage mental health during the efforts to minimise the impacts of COVID-19, we are pleased to announce that we have upgraded the Mental Safety App to provide industry and the broader community with a resource kit.

On Wednesday 30 October, representatives of the Bloomfield Group Foundation proudly attended the Youth Off the Streets Hunter Valley Outreach 10 year anniversary lunch. Over the 10 years the celebration marked, the Outreach program in the Hunter Valley has facilitated over 1,500 activities for young people and supported 4,000 clients through help with school, employment and individual advocacy. The outreach model helps marginalised young people in disadvantaged communities make positive changes in their lives for a brighter future.

The Independent Planning Commission (IPC) has approved the Rix’s Creek South Continuation Project. The IPC approval clears the way for operations at Rix’s Creek South Coal Mine to continue for another 21 years. Hundreds of local jobs have been secured, and a range of opportunities are now available across the group that will help deliver this vital project.

As part of its long term focus on the future, The Bloomfield Group is offering tertiary students the opportunity to complete paid work experience. Bloomfield has provided opportunities for vacation work for many years across a variety of fields.

Rix’s Creek Coal Mine’s recently suspended traineeship program is back on track, with the mine celebrating the arrival of three new trainees selected from a record 1,500 applicants.

The Bloomfield Group (Bloomfield) is seeking a short-term consent extension for operations at Rix’s Creek Coal Mine which would enable operations to continue as the approvals process for the overall continuation consent moves through the final stages. Under the overall continuation consent application, Bloomfield is asking for permission to continue operations until 2038.

On Friday the 8th of March 2019, crews from Bloomfield Open Cut, Rix’s Creek Mine, Four Mile and Kings Engineering joined with the many retirees from The Bloomfield Group who’d spent countless hours on the P&H 5700 to give the great shovel the send-off it deserved.
