Steamfest 2025: Competition Winners

As proud sponsors of Steamfest, it was wonderful to meet with so many people over a fantastic weekend to share information about our operations, our future projects and how we are supporting our community. Our ‘Guess the Weight of the Coal’ competition was hugely popular, with an amazing 472 entries. The coal weighed in at 52.4kg, and two people guessed the nearest at 52.5kg, each receiving a $250 gift card.

Mt Pleasant School Tours Rix’s Creek Mine, Sparking Student Curiosity

Rix’s Creek Mine recently welcomed students from Mt Pleasant School as part of the annual Upper Hunter Mining Dialogue (UHMD) school tour program. Through these tours, primary and secondary students gain firsthand insight into the impacts and benefits of mining in the Upper Hunter region. Each year, in partnership with local schools and industry members, the UHMD engages approximately 700 students in exploring mines and rehabilitation sites.
