Pasture Restoration Field Day

The Upper Hunter Mining Dialogue, in conjunction with The Bloomfield Group, is preparing for a Pasture Restoration Field Day on October 11. This will involve tours of the Rix’s Creek mine rehabilitation and information sharing focusing on pasture establishment.

The tour will take place across a number of mine sites in the Upper Hunter that have been rehabilitated to pasture and highlight the mining industry’s commitment to providing a positive legacy for Upper Hunter communities post-mining.

The Field Day will be a wonderful opportunity for agronomists, mining industry personnel and other key stakeholders from government, local councils, and community groups to come together to promote successes in the mining industry and share and discuss rehabilitated mine pasture research that can support continuous improvement.

With cattle grazing as our primary post-mine land use, we are looking forward to profiling our efforts and sharing the learnings and outcomes from the day.
