Mt Pleasant School Tours Rix’s Creek Mine, Sparking Student Curiosity
Rix’s Creek Mine recently welcomed students from Mt Pleasant School as part of the annual Upper Hunter Mining Dialogue (UHMD) school tour program. Through these tours, primary and secondary students gain firsthand insight into the impacts and benefits of mining in the Upper Hunter region. Each year, in partnership with local schools and industry members, the UHMD engages approximately 700 students in exploring mines and rehabilitation sites.
During their visit to Rix’s Creek Mine, Mt Pleasant students demonstrated enthusiastic engagement, posing insightful questions that highlighted their curiosity about mining operations and environmental stewardship. Rix’s Creek Mine team members were on hand to provide guidance and answer questions, making the experience both educational and enjoyable for all involved.
Thank you to everyone at our Rix’s Creek Mine who contributed to hosting this rewarding experience and inspiring the next generation to learn about mining.
