Carrie’s Place – Staying Home Leaving Violence program

The Bloomfield Group proudly supports the Carrie’s Place – Staying Home Leaving Violence program. It recently donated funds to purchase IT equipment for each Case Manager so they can work remotely from Singleton and Dungog to deliver this program.

The Staying Home Leaving Violence program is run by support agencies including Maitland’s Carrie’s Place in cooperation with the NSW Police to remove the violent partner in a domestic violence situation from the family home so that the family can stay home safely. The program has recently been expanded to Singleton and Dungog and provides a range of support such as safety planning, improving home security, help with managing finances, support for children and help with any legal processes.

Domestic Violence is a significant problem in Australia with 1 in 6 women having experienced physical or sexual violence by a current or former partner while for men it is 1 in 16. By supporting the Staying Home Leaving Violence program Bloomfield is committed to helping reduce the impact of domestic violence in our community.
