Apprentice Boilermaker

Fantastic opportunity for passionate and motivated individuals looking for a future trade career. The Bloomfield Group has an outstanding reputation for our Apprentice Training Program which the company has operated for more than 40 years. Our program is unique and highly regarded in the Engineering and Mining industries, we have an inclusive in-house program that is company operated. We are invested in our Apprentice Program and developing the next generation of trade’s people and potential leaders of our business. An apprenticeship with us will allow you to gain the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience for a career in your chosen field.

If successful in gaining one of these sought after opportunities, you will embark on a structured training program with potential for site placements across the Bloomfield Group and can expect to work in a caring environment where your learning is guided by experienced tradespersons, supervisors and managers supported by a dedicated Apprentice Program Coordinator.

The program includes a comprehensive internal work ready program which has been designed to assist your transition into the apprenticeship by providing you with a sound understanding of our business, our Values and Management Systems. The training has a strong focus on the importance of health and safety and developing the correct techniques when using trade tools and operating various equipment. Ongoing coaching and training will also be provided to you by your supervisors and experienced tradespersons throughout your apprenticeship to develop the knowledge and skills for you to become a competent tradesperson. In addition to this you will also complete formal training at either TAFE or WesTrac.

We are proud of the strong history and dedication the Group has shown to our Apprentice Program which has shaped the development of many highly competent Tradespeople, Engineers and Managers a number of whom are still with the business contributing to the Group’s success.

If you are successful, you will commence our Apprenticeship Program in December 2020 and will be employed with Kings Engineering working at our Rutherford workshop or Ashtonfield workshop, both part of the Bloomfield Group.

Essential requirements

  • Access to your own reliable transport to and from site
  • Possess strong mathematical aptitude with a minimum of Year 10 completion prior to commencement of Apprentice Program
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for your chosen trade
  • Take pride in the quality of your work
  • Be able to work independently, as well as contribute to a team
  • Be reliable for full-time working hours Monday to Friday and some weekends
  • Be committed to completing and passing all practical and theory-based study requirements of your Apprenticeship
  • Comfortable working at heights and in a physically demanding environment
